My bf did something really sweet for my birthday...

I LOVE shoes.. its not secret.. so I blogged about a pair of shoes on my site (www.cleosunshine.com <-- yes shameless plug! LOL ) that I was digging but wouldn't buy because I wasn't trying to spend any money. So for my birthday he wouldn't tell me what he got me. When I came over he blindfolded me & put the shoes on my feet.

It was so sweet because it was considerate and thoughtful.:)

Oh i have sooooo many (don't hate). :hmm:

You want naked or non-naked?

I'll start with a non-naked:

After my whining about growing berries in my backyard Mr. Izzy bought me 2 Lingonberry bushes all the way from Sweden (well they came from Oregon but they are swedish). The bushes were so cute I gave them a name and everything!

Naked:
Mr. Izzy is packing! That gives me a good vibe on the regular.

My baby just looks at me and makes me feel special. I cant explain it-I am just glad he came into my life when he did......Everytime I see him interact w/ his daughter or my kids...I realize that he is not the average man.

umm i notice that non of the men have come in and posted lol. I don't think men single out certain events like that and usally they look at the whole relationship.

But I like that me and my lady are constanly trying new and different activities. I like that she cooks for me and on occasion will takes me out for a date  she's a sweet heart.

I tend to agree with this..Sometimes it's just the look in a man's eyes that lets you know everything..I think that's how you know you have something special, when you don't have to say anything, but the person still knows how you feel.

As for me, it's the little things that matter, and I have had the pleasure of being with men that I did (and still) consider to be great men, because each have prepared me for the next..

When I went natural, the man I was involved with at the time was so supportive. He bought books for me, would find natural hair websites, the whole nine..he would wash my hair, and always told me how beautiful I was.

My mother is deceased, and my love used to buy birthday cards and mother's day cards for her, and wrote how much he loved us both, though he had never met her.

I think that great relationships and love inspire you to be the best self you can be..and for my current, potential love interest, he does that.. he listens, supports, keeps me calm.. I appreciate his optimism and he always makes me laugh..the simplest thing, like how he says my name, seems to just make my heart smile..

For me its the simple things that he does that give that boost on the daily. Its the spontaneous foot or body massages. The smile that once used to be so rare in him now he smiles because I make him happy (his words not mine). Him reading to me most nights or just talking me to sleep.
Taking my walks and him joining me and holding my hand while we walk. Watching him interact with the lil ones especially the youngest who is a lil bit of a rebel @ her 6yrs. LOL.

And like Onyx says its just the look that captures you completely :)

Also as Izzy said on the nekkid side of tings :D:yes:

And-he is lucky to have you. A woman who recognizes her mans worth....Powerful!

How is it creepy if it is something that made ID feel good? It is called a kind thoughtful gesture.

^^^

I mean.. while its a "nice" gesture.. I would think its weird for someone to love a dead person they never met. Its one thing to sympathize with her feelings... but to have a "relationship" with a dead person... slightly weird...

maybe it was before she died???
Also I think it is a sweet gesture also-kind of like thank you for the bringing the women I love into the world. Thats deep....Deeper than many can comprehend.

I can't speak for ID or the guy she is talking about, but it seems like this is probably what he was doing. If that's the case, it makes sense to me. I think it's OK to pay homage to the person who brought your significant other in to the world.

I find all of these responses to be interesting and entertaining. For those of you who may have never loss someone as close to you as a parent, or someone you have seen every day for the majority of your life, perhaps it is not something you can relate very well to.

Honestly, I understand how someone who has not experienced losing someone (a parent at that), might find it to be weird, that the man who loved me wanted to keep my mother alive in my life, and in his. For those of you who do not know, often times, when someone dies, he or she is never mentioned again, as if they never existed, no one acknowledges it, or they just wash over it. So for me, having a man who acknowledge my mother (never did i say he had a 'relationship' with, but okay) enough to give her a card on mother's day or her birthday, just to respect that she has given me life and helped me be the woman I am- the woman he loves, I see it as a grand gesture.

Would it be weird that when I have children, that I talk about my mother to them? Would it be weird for them to have love for a grandmother that they have never met? It's amazing to me how a lot of people claim to be spiritual, but see feeling connected to another person they have never as so weird.

I've got a few things I can say. I'll have to think about them, and put them in here. I'll be back later with some things I like a woman to do. You never know, there might be some things the ladies in here already do, and there may be some things you all can pick up on. Either way, the exchange of information should be interesting...

I always appreciate it when a woman pays attention to details the same way she would like me to. When you're dealing with someone you should both know the right things to say and/or do to make the other person feel special. I think women forget to do that way too often, so when I see, hear about, or feel it personally I really appreciate it. Men are generally not driven by emotion like women tend to be, but we still want and need to feel that we are appreciated and loved. When a woman opens herself up to do that it's a beautiful thing. I'm also a huge fan of rational thought. I'm a very rational man, and finding that quality in a woman is very refreshing. Liking/loving someone can be a very irrational and emotional thing, so to be able to rationally navigate those things and put (emotional) things in proper perspective is a good look. It's even better when both party's are able to understand and explain things in an open and continuing dialogue. These are just a couple of the things I want/need in a woman. I think they are healthy practices in my view and they create great balance between the people involved in a relationship...

I have had MANY positive experiences in relationships and I feel lucky.

Getting that text every morning saying "Good morning sexy"
Having dinner ready for me when I come to visit
Remembering the special days
Knowing that my family comes first and not resenting me for it
Walking along the pier together just talking and laughing
Feeling safe

I think when my husband became a father it took our love to a new level. We had a great marriage to begin with but after children it's so much better. I think the love he has for our kids makes me love him even more.

I have a new one (lets keep the thread going to balance out the times when our loved ones get on our nerves as they so often do :))

Recently, I had to get a vaccination for some obsure illness before going overseas. I had a bad reaction to the vaccine and was sick as a dog in bed for 3 days and Mr.Izzy took the most superb care of me. What impressed me most was how non-chalant he was about it like "ok you sick i'm gonna take care of you no biggie." He didn't make me feel beholden or like a burden- just well taken care of.

Me and my girlfriend just recently broke up but I can say both of us can take some positives out of it cause we only broke up cause when we both graduated from college she got a job in another city and I work in a different city so we just decided that we would be better off as friends and our friendship has grown even more now then when we were in a relationship.
