Hmmm interesting.
I think the first mistake is equating financial means with being a "success".
One can be rich and be a potentially shitty spouse and parent.

However, I thought there were good points like not emasculating a man by reminding him and everybody else that he is fiscally impaired (I'm trying to stop using the word "broke" because that's excessively negative.)

I think an alternative perspective CT is that a woman with her own financial means should feel even more free to marry for love and companionship rather than be concerned about marrying "up" for financial gain.
